Finally in Colorado!!!

Susan in New Mexico. I didn't want to tell her we (I) took a wrong turn somewhere along Hwy 84 and were headed to Taos. :) It turned out fine, though...the road along the water was beautiful and we ended up not making it to Durango to ride the Million Dollar Highway as I had originally planned. They say things happen for a reason, and we ended up riding straight up the middle of Colorado with the San Juan Mountains on the left and the Sangre de Christos on the right, then of course into the Rockies. The only pass we crossed was Hoosier Pass (http://www.stevegarufi.com/hoosierpasscolorado.htm), between Fairplay and Breckenridge. I believe that was the highest we got the whole trip at 11,541 feet. This was probably a very good thing, all things considered. :)
